Update!
The quick update on the Wonder Winch is that Nick is continually testing the 5000 and trying to find ways to make it fail. He did lose pressure a few times on a test winch but the problem has since been resolved. We currently have three winches on the production line right now. Nick is towing on a daily basis.... The feedback on the WW has been fantastic. We couldn't be more excited.

A bit on the philosophy of the whole mission...
I am sort of biased, but I have to say that I think that towing is a great way to go. Nothing has helped my enjoyment of paragliding and teaching more than organizing things so that I end up on the water on a daily basis instead of at the end of long dusty roads.
The best part is that my friends and clients bring their wives and children out paragliding and it is a nice thing....hauling friends and family to the end of those roads was not nice(though I did it for lots of years).
In any case, the background is; for years you had to have $8500 and be willing to donate a truck or a boat to paragliding in order to go towing with any kind of predictability. Maybe the worst thing was that you had to have a fork lift or a crane to move a winch from a boat to a truck. Well, thankfully those days are over.... Call me crazy but I really think that there are going to be tons of clubs and individuals owning winches and a WHOLE bunch more flying taking place as a result.
Most importantly, know that my partner Nic and I are philosophically devoted to delivering winches all over the world AND here's the main thing: we want it to be fun and easy to get into towing and own the winches.
Holler if you have any questions.
Nic will be towing in Las Vegas this weekend if you would like to come up, get a look at the technology and log some tows on the dry lake-bed.

Price, Contact, Stationary Tows
The current price for a Wonder Winch 5000 is $6995 with 5500 feet of line, receiver hitch mount, "adjustable feet" for mounting in a boat/truck bed, retrieval drouge, a few tow bridles and some training. Naturally, we hope to sell enough winches that we can afford to lower the price slightly over time. We can arrange mounting, training, certification and the winches are guaranteed against defects. Please contact Chris 801 706 6076 or chris@superflyinc.com for details.
The latest new is that we did some stationary winch tows yesterday. One remarkable characteristic of a WW5000 is that even with it's somewhat small re-wind motor, it can still achieve remarkable stationary winch tows.

200 lbs.
The official "dripping wet" weight of a Wonder Winch 5000 is 200lb. Nic(140lbs) has been loading it in the back of his truck by himself. This means that two people can lift it into a boat, it can be shared by clubs and used in multiple vehicles... The possibilities are fairly endless. The tower comes off in minutes which means you don't have to worry about drive thrus and garages... You could keep it in an apartment and use it in any car with a receiver hitch. In case I failed to mention it, the Wonder Winch 5000 is designed to be operated by one or two people. The controls can easily be routed from the bumper/back of the truck to be within comfortable reach of the driver. Game on.

5000, check out

We did the first tow with our Wonder Winch 5000 today. It is a hydraulic pay out with direct rewind. It performed beautifully. We will do some tandem towing and a bunch of tows in quick succession just to make sure that there are no bugs. Then we will take it down south for some weekend fun and to demo the unit to the crew down there. This is a beautiful bit of technology. It pays out like other hydraulic winches that are being used but it rewinds somewhat more expeditiously takes up half the size and weighs at least a hundred and fifty pounds less. I have a feeling that this winch is going to be popular and will make a lot of flying happen.
