transition

The latest news is that we issued our most recent Texas customer a full refund for his winch which, while semi functional on several occassions, had too many problems. We had another winch ready to deliver but decided to disassemble it in favor of a new design which is currently in the works. The difference between the previous effort and the current effort is that we are now designing the winch on a computer. In fact; a professional, mechanical engineer is at the helm and has a whole host of specialists on his side at his "real" job.

trouble

It had to happen.... In the spirit of being totally forthright, we delivered a winch with some problems. Bud Wruck was the unlucky recipient and he received a WW with a bad powder coating, a mis-alignment issue and a missing part. Additionally, we didn't wire his electric start before the unit shipped. Bud is a great sport and is super handy(thank goodness) and has resolved the problems. Also, he experienced one thing that I had suspected but hadn't confirmed(the centrifigual clutch can slip when doing stationary tows with heavy pilots in wind). Live and learn. Bud is now towing with his WW and experiencing success. We reimburse him for his time and any materials that he has to purchase and we are firmly committed to making sure that he ends up getting(and feeling he is getting) a good deal.

We are off to Las Vegas with the next unit(some improvements) and will do our best to find any and all problems by using it for a few consecutive days. We are moving our manufacturing to a really nice fab shop here shortly and the product should reflect this change. Nik is in California at the moment and will shift his focus from manufacturing the current Wonder Winches to developing lighter, smaller, better etc. new winches.

update

The latest is that we have recently delivered a receiver hitch mountable stationary winch with paramotor rack and detachable wheels to a client in Hawaii. Also, we delivered a 5000 to a customer in Colorado. We are currently working on a unit specifically engineered for tandem boat towing. We have continued to test the units in many different ways and have been very happy with our results.

SW tour

I have been touring the SW. CA, AZ, NM and now TX with the Wonder Winch. We have taken a few orders but more importantly, people are really taken by the practicality of the winch. Check out www.upsessionparagliding.com . These guys have been using a WW 5000 type winch for three + years! Holler if you want to get your name on the list. We have three in final production right now and one of them is still available.

Update!

The quick update on the Wonder Winch is that Nick is continually testing the 5000 and trying to find ways to make it fail. He did lose pressure a few times on a test winch but the problem has since been resolved. We currently have three winches on the production line right now. Nick is towing on a daily basis.... The feedback on the WW has been fantastic. We couldn't be more excited.
